  1. Was just perusing a friends recent Way Mag, and though the numbers were noteworthy.. According to the numbers announced for the 2009 Advanced Class 2009, it had only 69 attendees from 16 states, the two root locales (Gunnison and HQ), and one international. And then 70% of those attendees were teens, which makes about 48 teens and 21 adults! I feel sorry for those kids growing up.. Looks like that's all that is left keeping the Way #'s up.. No fresh blood, just sacrificed kids! And only 16 states?! Where'd they all go?

  2. From everything that I have heard here at GSC the mental pressure and indoctrination was as thorough and as intense as anything that happened in TWI at the root locales among TWI staff. Lives were twisted and broken across the board. For anyone leaving RRF there is no telling how much help they may need to get on with their lives. (edited for spelling)

  3. Having dealt with the topic personally and with friends, I understand. I'll keep you in my prayers. JT

  4. btw, the persons who are allowed free reign on that site are particularly the fundamentalists, both christian fundamentist (read, extremist) AND political fundamentalists (read, extremists). And the founder of that site has essentially adopted a practice of APPEASEMENT to wierwille apologists while denying that he is one himself... at the same time as he quickly and harshly shuts down anyone who criticizes TWI... AND anyone who dares to challenge the kind of political hate speech that we've been seeing in America, and which has, indeed been expressed on that WC social site, even to the end of encouraging and/or condoning illegal and violent acts against the government of the United States.

  5. Btw, harking back to this editorial thread on TWI, and my previous "advocacy" for the WC social website, I wanted to now tell folks here that my view of that experience has changed. The founder of that social website had quite a falling out with people on this site shortly after he started his site. While I still believe his intent was benign and noble, it is now nearly two years (and more than 1300 members) later and as things have evolved, it is clear to me that the founder of that site has gotten himself in over his head. The rules and intent stated at the start was to keep that site's forums on subjects of a general nature, applicable to the community of members therein. His stated intent was to allow members to express themselves (more or less) freely on blogs that each member could post to his/her profile page and be responsible for, and control whether or not they wanted to allow feedback (comments in response). At first, it was more freely. Now, for some it is more, and for some it is MUCH less. For example, Penworks' outstanding analysis, which Penworks posted on that site, drew some responses... actually thoughtful responses. However, the founder of that site, as soon as he caught wind of this brilliant analysis and those thoughtful responses -- SHUT IT DOWN. This he has done a couple of times to me also. If this topic is of interest, I can expand on it in it's own thread. But i think this much, since it involves a comment posted directly to this thread, which goes directly to the point of this thread, I hope I do not offend anyone by posting this here. Needless to say, I have already gotten the "spiritual cold-shoulder" from the founder of that site. Live goes on.

  6. Geeze Louise! We used to have branch meetings bigger than that every week in the early 70's.

  7. "Where'd they all go?" Dear TrustAndObey, would you like the official TWI party-line pat answer to that or something more closely approximating reality? hehehe

  8. Thanks Shellon It is a fine line to walk. One I am willing to do for my wife. Tzaia, To answer your question, she would not like it and not leave me. That being said if you believe that their is a kinder gentler way international, I have a nice used car for you and some swamp land in Fla. I have seen lots of people in my situation over the years break up. The way wants you to follow and if one leaves its a new type of love bombing. New and special projets for the inne spouse to do and keep them busy, and secluded. They are taken under the wing of corp nazi's and given lots of one on one time. Great truths are shared for corp meetings. The other innies want to spend lots of time with this person and little hints, comments or statements are made over time about the non standing spouse. Add this to both of us having family in, I lose all support and left to wonder whats going on while wife gets love bombed.. I have seen this and the area I am in the corp nazi leader does not like cop outs. He really does note like having in his state one standing and one out. He has said in more then one meeting the only reason for divorce is if a spouse leaves the way... copenhagen

  9. The irony of the bureaucracy of TWI was that TWI was supposed to be "different". It was different alright. It was a hybrid of other religious legalistic structures which created a unique legalistic structure. It wasn't that TWI was striving for a level of consistency throughout the organization. It wanted everything the same. Kinda like McDonald's, only for different reasons.

  10. Great point Shellon. I guess I should of been more clear in my post. I am in the Way but want out but am afraid of losing a spouse and family. Just like what you were going thru. I posted from the point of view of my personal life of my wife and family who have seen and lived thru the b.s. but still stay. Yes there are people like you 16 yrs ago and me now. I am looking at the mind set of people like my wife who assume twi is God and to disobey the way is like spitting in God's face.. copenhagen
