  1. Past hour
  2. While listening to atheists' podcasts, I've heard it said that there are bad reasons for becoming an atheist, but I have yet to hear them identify these reasons and explain why they are bad. So, iyo, what are some of these bad reasons?
  3. Today
  4. That's it. Most parodies were actually pretty accurate. George
  5. House of the Rising Sun "Where it began, I can't begin to knowing..." George
  6. Based on very vague memories, and some cartoon spoofs, I'm going with "THE LAWRENCE WELK SHOW."
  7. Next song.... "I'm not sick but I'm not well, and I'm so hot 'cause I'm in hell." *skip* "We're no strangers to love. You know the rules and so do I (Do I). A full commitment's what I'm thinking of. You wouldn't get this from any other guy." Please name the song in boldface. (Bragging rights if you can name the song NOT in boldface, which is harder.)
  8. Should be "Fly Like an Eagle." I'm having trouble remembering the original artist ("Steve Miller Band"???), so I'm going with "SEAL", who, I'm confident, did a neat cover.
  9. I keep seeing the title as "Beep Beep (Little Nash Rambler)", and searches for "Little Nash Rambler" keep ending in articles about a song called "Beep Beep". Wikipedia lists it as "Beep Beep." So, pending some truly authoritative source, I'm counting that as official. I'll have another song up shortly.
  10. Yesterday
  11. Sometimes it's called "Beep, Beep" but I think the Rambler title is the real one. And yes, NY. NY. George
  12. BZZT! Incorrect title, George. (And "New York, New York," old blue eyes.)
  13. Feed the babies Who don't have enough to eat Shoe the children With no shoes on their feet House the people Livin' in the street Oh, oh, there's a solution
  14. The Little Nash Rambler "Start spreading the news..." George
  15. I've avoided the new stuff, but the 8 movies based on the 7 books, those I saw. Even if you only watch them when they air on TV, they're not hard to find. Generally, if I want, I can see those and the LotR movies airing on one channel or another.
  16. "While...ri-ding...in...my....Ca-di-llac...much...to....my....sur-prise..."
  17. This is a game show that lasted for several seasons, on different channels, and even spawned a video game based on gameplay. The actual gameplay was pretty straightforward, but a lot of the show's success was based not on the gameplay, but on STYLE. The gameplay for an entire episode could be over in less than 5 minutes, but we padded it out with responses from the audience, with feedback from family members there to support the player, and with the show's unseen antagonist occasionally doing something unexpected in the game area. In at least a few episodes, we saw the show's antagonist very clearly and got to hear them. That was because they got permission to exchange the antagonist for DARTH VADER, and there's no reason to include him if you can't see or hear him. The rest of the show's cast also got a wardrobe change for those episodes, as well (all 26 of them), although the host kept his suits. The name of the show is easy to understand for anyone who has watched even one episode of the show, since the show is dominated by asking one simple question. The name of the show is NOT written as a question despite that.
  18. "What's your prediction for the fight?" "My prediction?" "Yes, your prediction." "Pain!" George
  19. I usually wait a while to say I have no idea. George
  20. I haven't seen any of the Potter movies. I can picture Radcliffe from the ads, but i didn't know his name. New one soon. George
