Are The Way honoring their promise to keep their followers informed?

Several months ago The Way was asked by the Sidney Daily News to comment on the WayDale web site. Their public relations man, Rico Magnelli fielded the questions and plainly told the newspaper reported that The Way's policy is to keep people "fully informed".

If Magnelli was being honest when he made this statement (and he made this statement on behalf of the Way trustees), why has The Way changed its policy?  Is this policy of keeping its followers "fully informed" no longer convenient? Were Magnelli and the trustees lying when they said this?

As of the date of this writing (07/14/2000), The Way has yet to inform the rank and file followers across the country that a second lawsuit has been filed against them, and that a second woman has come forward claiming that she was sexually abused by former president Craig Martindale.

Excerpted from the Sidney Daily News article is this:

Rico Magnelli, public relations coordinator for The Way International, said that the Way’s policy is to keep people fully informed.

"Anyone that has ever been involved in our ministry honestly knows that we explain decisions involving our ministry from A to Z, from soup to nuts, to our followers. This has been the pattern since 1942 from the founding board of trustees clear through to the current trustees and leadership body. We want people to be fully informed because we understand people, no matter who they are, have to make up their own minds," Magnelli stated.

The article (a feature on WayDale), was published several months ago and can be read in its entirety HERE
