Detail
Below
The
above described policy was STILL in effect as of April 99 and
WayDale has not learned that this policy has been lifted yet.
TWI
actually have a "PREGNANCY POLICY" in place that all
Way Corps and all staff at root locations MUST comply with. It
has been in place for about three years now. The policy came
in when the Corps went working fulltime with the ministry. It
was to help curb medical costs for the ministry.
TWI have a clearly defined policy on who can have children and
who can not. It is based on age and how many children the
couple already have. For example a newly married couple that
were in their twenties could not have children under this
plan.
The Wainrights (Eric and Linda?) were dropped from the Corps
and FIRED from their TWI jobs for getting pregnant. It was
their sixth or seventh pregnancy.
Craig Martindale yelled and screamed at a corps meeting about
this situation and condemned her "Roman Catholic
mindset" in getting pregnant so many times.
Dwight and Lisa Lambert were also FIRED from their TWI jobs
and dropped from the Corps as a result of Lisa getting
pregnant for the second time. Her pregnancy did not fall
within the guidelines of The Way Pregnancy Policy. Martindale
spoke very disparagingly of Dwight and Lisa in a Corps meeting
when this happened.
They
did not have permission to be an exception to the Pregnancy
Policy. LCM accused them of being extremely evil in their
handling of this matter. He openly discussed their situation
on a Way Corps phone hookup and condemned them openly for
their failure to comply with the policy.

- WayDale has been told that TWI have lifted their Pregnancy
Policy for staff (we haven't heard about Way Corps). This is
an unconfirmed report (only one person has reported this)
and should be treated as such. If indeed the lifting of this
mandate is true, WayDale wonders what prompted it -- was it
due to some potential legal ramifications?
