Personal Notes from Corps Morning 3/11/98

On Stage were Craig Martindale, Rosalie Rivenbark, Howard Allen and Bill Greene

Craig Martindale

Why all of a sudden do we have to make so many cuts? 60 % of our income goes to Way Corps being full time. Not saving enough to be able to save the FICA tax due in Dec. It's impossible to predict our income. We have more people giving per capita over 10 % consistently. Being critical of our people is not the approach.

Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille always wanted us (Trustees) to be better than them. Not senses wise, but in handling the affairs of the ministry. We're at about a level 3 - DefCon 3. Every Corps is responsible for Corps Principle 4.

The handout (Emergency Cost Cutting Measures) might not be all we do. But we know our need will be supplied. This is for the next 18 months. Genuine need basis - requires constant vigilance. The pivotal issue is the Corps being full time. We will even consider selling the plane for a cushion - worth about 1.7 million now in order to keep the Corps full time.

When car maintenance bills get too high, don't take from your savings, call and talk to your overseer so we can all prepare. We will decide where we will cut - it's an across the board 10% pay cut.

Wanda Wierwille

(Shopping tips)

Be prepared. Write your prices on commonly bought items on a 3 x 5 card and carry it with you. Carrying the card helps us to recognize a good sale and/or sale price. Watch newspaper ads. Don't get totally out of stock so you're forced to buy something. Check grocery flyers for sales for that week. Make your menu after you check the store ads. Buy extra sale items if you have the resources. Clip coupons from the Sunday paper. Some stores double/triple your money on coupons. It's worth my time to

check the coupons. Try off brand or store brand products. Bread stores save a lot.

Bill Coyle (TWI Trustee Cabinet overseer of TWI Food Services Dept.)

We are establishing a goal. Removing 20 of our most expensive meals from the HQ menu. Cutting on oven ready-prepared entrees. Using bulk cereals rather than small boxed ones. You pay more for convenience. Kroeger's the best generic store brand.

Craig Martindale

If earthly families want to help or offer to help financially, then it's okay. Way Corps on the field will be told how much they can spend on housing. They will get a % of how much we can spend on housing and can't go beyond.

The example is our fire spiritually, the ministry I move, my children, my marriage, my personal habits; not the house I live in. Live in neighborhoods where they want you.

Can't let the realtors dictate where we would live, or school districts either. Ask disciples where their kids go to school.

II Timothy 4:7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

All 3 categories are required for us to be rewarded. Keeping is the divine completeness. We will be rewarded for our diligence and carrying out to enhance the household. Enhancing the household is the necessary component.

Rosalie Rivenbark

Make better applications of people to the equipment in the TWI offices. Too many computers being bought. Redeem the time and the finances. No shortcuts in working the Word.

Craig Martindale

Limb coordinators make sure your Corps know about any major announcements. Record of Jacob and Esau. Jacob did not totally mark and avoid his earthly brother. Jacob did not commit or endear himself in any way to Esau. They buried Isaac together.

Retemory # 16 - I Timothy 5: 17 Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine.

18 For the scripture saith, Thou shalt not muzzle the ox that treadeth out the corn. And, The labourer is worthy of his reward.

Let = allow - you have to decide. Do what it takes . Well - kalos - ideal or excellently. The elder has to prove his ministry. Counted worthy - from axios in Eph 4. Walk axios - balanced. What I say and believe - I live practically - of the vocation wherewith you are called. Double honor = heart and finances. Honor is the root of the name Timothy. People's lives have to be in balance. The household is based on merit by the fruit you produce. Especially - most notably. Labor -kopos; in - en; the logos and the doctrine.

The household prevailing (the church in its reign - Dr. Victor Paul Wierwille ). Vs 18 - For = the reason why. It's a quote from Deut. 25:4 Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn. And from I Cor. 9:9 For it is written in the law of Moses, Thou shalt not muzzle the mouth of the ox that treadeth out the corn. Doth God take care for oxen?

It's the bedrock governing standard for living with need supplied.

II Timothy 2: 6 The husbandman that laboureth must be first partaker of the fruits.

This is based on the standards of the previous 5 verses.

We're responsible to give this Word to the faithful.

II Timothy 2:1 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

2 And the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.

3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

5 And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

In Aramaic culture - no athletic imagery. Had to be at peace to have time for athletics.

Vs. 4 - Stay out of court, debt, the attitudes of the world.

II Timothy 2: 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

Flee also youthful lusts, the desire for possessing, better stuff.

School activities are generally cheaper than non-school activities. All you need to win a fight is conviction. Gotta have a balance in our thinking and life.

Money is part of my spiritual decisions. Jesus Christ watched over the physicals, finances. Watch my mind, protect myself, know my brain.

Vs 5 - That's the standard of the Grace Administration. To strive lawfully be a tupos, a good example. Vs 6 & 7 are CP4 retemories.

I Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.

7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

Vs 6 - that's the more abundant life. Great -megos.

Vs 7 - eis - into

Vs 8 - content - satisfied. That's a command. All the extra activities are gravy.

Vs 9 - But (more in the sense of then). Will - boulomai - same word as in I Cor 12:11.

Will - purpose and intent - that's their god. Frivolous and hurtful lusts. Perdition - loss.

Vs 10 - For - reason why. Love - phileo. Evil - kakos. Coveted - exerted themselves after. Gets back to the household. The measuring stick is what have I done with the household available to me in my day and time.

Vs 10 - Rockefeller example.

I Timothy 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

13 I give thee charge in the sight of God, who quickeneth all things, and before Christ Jesus, who before Pontius Pilate witnessed a good confession;

14 That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

15 Which in his times he shall show, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

17 Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;

18 That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;

Vs 11 & 12 - Family faith. Fight to keep the family faith functioning. What have I done with my responsibilities in the household? Emerson - speak the rude truth.

Vs 12 - Reward totally by merit. Good = kalos.

Vs 17 - CP4

Vs 8 defines it. Be content with food and raiment. Above that is being rich. Food - maybe figure of Metonomy, noun for noun. Anything above my need - don't be high minded.

Vs 18 - verb of agathos - good.

II Timothy 2: 22 Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

23 But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.

That's who we pursue with, those with a pure heart. Vs 23 - foolish = moros.

CORPS MORNING/STAFF MEETING

3/11/98 - Rev. Martindale, Rev. Rosalie Rivenbark, Howard Allen, Bill Greene
